A Talk with Marc Ménasé

Wednesday 15 March, 12h00 - 12h30

After the boom and record-breaking fundraising, what is the outlook for startups and what lessons can be learned?

We must admit that things are not going well. Fundraising delays are getting longer, resales (and bankruptcy filings...) are taking over, and valuations are plunging to the great displeasure of founders and shareholders. On the other hand, the French structural deficit in terms of exits will improve: scale-ups are shopping around and corporates could get involved. Moreover, start-ups are forced to adopt a very sound management. But what does it mean for them to have to reach profitability faster? Does it mean refocusing their priorities, or also cutting costs and raising prices? Will they end up better or worse off than their American and Chinese competitors? In short, what is happening now and what are the consequences, positive or negative? A no bullshit conversation between two connoisseurs who are not afraid to speak their minds.

With Marc Menasé, French Serial Entrepreneur, Business Angel and Founding Partner of the investment fund Founders Future,

interviewed by Flore Fauconnier, Digital Strategy Consultant.
